Seychelles tourism under attack following election protest by Opposition Candidate Ramkalawan as travel advisory is issued by UK
aTP- Arab tourism portal- Seychelles tourism industry may become the first casualty from protest statements made as Presidential election results were announced on Saturday morning. When Wavel Ramkalawan said he was nor accepting the election results and would be deciding what to do the perfect safety label of the islands was under attack.
The UK Foreign Services issued a travel advice on Seychelles and its tourism industry becomes vulnerable. Press have been watching what the Tourism Office of the Seychelles in the UK is doing to counteract this negative state of affairs but so far nothing has been done.
Travel Advisories is known to hurt tourism destinations. The Seychelles Tourism Office in UK was reestablished only a couple of years ago when tourism was relaunched by a revamped Tourism Board. The UK market was working but if this travel advisory bites will that office be closed once again.
Seychelles has been actively promoting a policy of diversification and only recently Minister Joel Morgan announced that Air Seychelles would be starting direct non stop flights to China. Could that result in their London Office be down graded as the UK market is now under threat.
