On the occasion of the World Tourism Day 2009 Tourism Celebrating Diversity; the Cairo Marriott Hotel received the Award of Excellence from the Ministry of Tourism in appreciation of the hotels efforts in promoting tourism in Egypt.

 
In his speech, H.E. Zoheir Garranah, the Minister of Tourism, elaborated that the ministry had awarded the hotels that were able to positively contribute to the Egyptian tourism by bringing in large numbers of tourists, in addition to the most renowned tourist organizations.
