British Foreign Office warns of strike in Portugal

 

Almasalla Travel News - The Foreign Office is warning Britons visiting Portugal later this month that their trips might be disrupted.

A general strike has been called for June 27, which might hit public transport and services, said the Foreign Office, which advised people to check details with their travel -----companies before they leave.

Portugal's moderate UGT labour union announced last week that it will.join the more leftist CGTP, the country's largest union, in a general strike.

The move is against austerity measures imposed on the country by the Troika - European Commission, European Central Bank and the International Monetary Fund.
